Boris Holmqvist - paintings
Boris Holmqvist is a 25 years old man from Stockholm. He works with massive works in mixed media on paper, mostly in sizes above 3 square meters. His compositions and choices of motives often seem kaotic at first sight, but they all tell a story, and if you take the time to look, you see that they are very carefully composed and thoroughly worked.
Boris has been a full time artist for the last 6 years, but has only sold to private collectors and has not shown his works in any exhibitions until two months ago, when I managed to convince him to apply to one of the most prestigeous shows in Sweden. The show is held every spring at Liljevalchs in Stockholm, and had about 39000 visitors this year. The works are selected by a jury consisting of curators and art experts from Sweden and abroad.
Boris applied with two pieces, and both of them got accepted by the jury. They also got sold within the first week of the exhibition. After this success Boris has agreed to let us publish some of his works and arrange exhibitions further on. We are very happy to have the opportunity to show his works.
