LuckyThief - paintings and sculptures
Lucky thief is a three-piece art group from Sweden. Two of us are brothers and the last one is an old friend. We grew up in the same town and have always been working together. It will probably stay that way.
We paint and sculpture together as a group. It’s almost like a rock band. Everybody is working on everything, at the same time. We gather, fill our studio floor with stuff, and walk around on it adding an arm here, and landscape there until we like the result.
We’ve chosen this teamwork method for several reasons, but mainly because it’s boring to work alone. Stuff done in a group is also more unpredictable and amuses both the artists and the gallery visitor much more then solo art.
Our main studio is located in the central part of Stockholm, but sometimes it gets too boring or too cold. For that purpose we have built ourselves a small cabin on the slopes of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. That is were we met William Lo, who got us in to making wooden sculptures. Now we try to get time to go there at least once a year, and we are still working with William sometimes.
